Our daughter is a student at North Asheville Academy of Taekwondo. When we were trying to find a school for her to attend, we were looking for a class where the teachers had an obvious and enthusiastic love for teaching as well as instilled confidence and strong work ethic in their students. Mr. Roberts and his teaching associates have more than surpassed all of our requirements. We love to sit and watch them teach the students. They not only teach them a skill, but many other life lessons as well. We are proud of the changes we have seen in our daughter as she has attended the classes. She was given goals to attain and was able to attain them through the teaching skills of Mr. Roberts and his staff.
We entered her into a tournament several months into her lessons just so she could get the experience of the competition and also gain some confidence in herself. She ended up winning first place for her age and belt group! Thanks to North Asheville Academy of Taekwondo my daughter is learning some very valuable life lessons as well as how to defend herself.

Eric started taking martial arts classes when he was 5 yrs. old. After some time at his old school there was a need for change, we happened upon North Asheville Academy of Tae Kwon Do. This happen-stance turned out to be a great thing for all 3 of our kids. Eric, now an 11 yr. old first degree black belt, overcame several obstacles with the help of Mr. Roberts and his fun but disciplined way of running his classes. Eric was shy and was working from another set of class rules and forms he had learned from his previous martial arts practice. Mr. Roberts patiently challenged Eric until he achieved his First Degree rank. Mr. Roberts then invited Jessica & Rachel, Eric's two sisters, to join in. They were reluctant but up for the challenge. Now here we are 3 years later and with the patience and persistence of Mr. Roberts & his willing staff we have one First Degree Black Belt (Eric), Jessica will be testing for her First Degree Black Belt in August of 2008 and Rachel will be testing for her Black Belt recommended rank in October of 2008. All that said, I think the best testimonial is that all 3 of our children are always ready, willing, and eager to get to class. It is a learning environment where the boundaries & rules are clear so everyone can have plenty of fun while learning so much about themselves physically and mentally as well as building their character.Like I said, it is a great thing for all 3.
